Thanks to the summer food boxes I have a whole frozen broiler chicken. I don't usually make chicken soup, what else can I do with it? I want to make shredded chicken and freeze for suppers, has anyone done that before with a whole chicken in the crockpot or oven?

Here’s a suggestion sit him up on a tube pan or a beer can or similar rub with lemon juice fresh garlic and herbs . Bake it. Baste with the juices.

Yes you can easily roast a whole chicken in the oven or in the crockpot. Lots of seasoning. No liquid.
