Is 12 weeks okay or should I do it earlier?
I kinda set my mind on 12 but them I think maybe too late?
I think I used to tell before 12 in previous pregnancies (but also a different employer).
I am currently at 10. I am very nervous due to previous losses.

You don't have to tell your office so early. You can wait until 16 weeks if you want...

12 weeks is extremely early to tell them. I know some people don’t even tell their family members yet at that point. There’s no reason to tell then especially being that you’re concerned because of previous losses.

I feel bad for them because I work in a field with long term planning, so it already makes a difference now.
My work in the next weeks will depend on this item of information.
I may even get easier or less work.
I feel like I also start to show.
People who don’t know me, see that I am pg
People who know me, think that it’s my belly from the previous pg

You're doing the smart, responsible thing. Waiting until everyone has already figured it out and is tiptoeing around the topic is just rude.
However, if you don't want to go public quite yet, speak with your boss privately and ask that he/she keep the information quiet for the time being.

Okay this took an unexpected turn.
I just told the boss and it turned out that state regulations changed and I am not allowed to work for now…
Pretty bummed now because I was in an interesting project.
Or maybe just not ready for a sudden change.

I don't like the sound of this... are you sure they are not discriminating based on pregnancy?
What kind of regulations?

What on earth??
What state regulations forbid a pregnant woman to work?? That sounds highly suspicious and unlikely

What state is this? This sounds like sheer BS. Even if you were working with something fetotoxic like lead or gamma ray emitters, they would have to offer you alternate work if you wanted it or the option to go on disability if they couldn't find you alternate work without unsafe exposure.
I suggest you contact the occupational health and safety division of your state department of labor and find out the truth. If your employers are lying to you about being forbidden to work, as I am 99 and 44/100ths percent sure is the case, you can and should file a discrimination complaint against them, with either your state division of human rights or the federal Human Rights Commission.

Read "Pregnancy Discrimination and Pregnancy-Related Disability Discrimination" on the EEOC website (EEOC.gov). Federal law gives even pregnant firefighters the right to continue working if they so desire (and can still pass the physical requirements. At some point that becomes less likely, but not at this early stage) and firefighting is a very fetotoxic job. Hard to imagine that your job would be more so.
