How can I get him used to other fish recipes, such as baked teriyaki fish, etc. to make my life easier? His reasoning is, it doesn’t feel like Shabbos if it’s not the traditional Shabbos recipe.

What is a shabbos recipe? Do you mean gefilte fish?

I mean, cooked in water with onion and carrots, sugar, salt, and white pepper.

I understand him. We too eat only gefilte but I cook sweet and sour salmon too. We would never eat other types of fish on shabbos. I do make it fancy sometimes when we have guest like adding a piece of cucumber and mayo or chrain in it.

Make some for him plain, and make a different type as well. maybe he will try it and get used to it. I usually use rolls but I bake them in tomatoe sauce. Or we have smoked salmon, sometimes fresh.
