LO constantly hungry?

My 8mo old recently started nursing almost every hour, even though I give solids twice a day. I upped the protein content, but it hasn't made much of a difference. From what I've read, this isn't the age of a growth spurt. Any info, suggestions, advice?

Just feed more! A full piece of chicken, sandwich, just more. It's fine.
Don't cut nursing.

He may be thirsty or just need more real food. You can give him regular meals 3 times a day plus nursing.

Hmm, maybe. I do offer water all day, but for some reason baby only likes to drink out of the actual plastic water bottle, so it is hard to measure water intake.

I have tried, but baby loses interest after about 2oz of solids at a time.

I may try this, feeding solids more often. Baby doesn't like too much solids at once, but maybe if it's at different times more will get eaten.

Is he nursing for the same amount of time per feeding as he previously was?

I could do a whole spin-off about baby only drinking from the bottle (or a cup) and refusing water in a sippy cup or baby bottle. Any advice on that? Scratching Head

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. There are definitely some times that seem like "snacks," but it's so hard to tell because I nurse in response to baby panting and crawling at me and swiping at my chest, and not leaving me alone until I snap those clips down.

So far I've only tried the Mam trainer bottle. Baby just chews on the sippy tip. Ended up putting the nipple attachment on, which helped a little bit, but baby still only drinks a couple sips and then hits it away and moves on. How do I know if baby's getting enough water??

But if yours has a hard time figuring out straws they may need a honey bear cup

Ok so I will try that cup and a straw cup and see if that increases baby's water intake, and see if the increased water intake helps with the constant feedings. Thank you all who chimed in!
