I know the target market is smaller than a chain of stores, but why does frum clothing & swimwear have to cost so much that it's prohibitively expensive? It can make it difficult to support Jewish businesses and to keep tznius properly too.

They want to make money. Lots and lots of money.
And there are people that pay it. Go to the stores in July, it’s empty, even the most expensive things.

I’ve had people chastise me for not shopping at Jewish stores, but I am poor. I don’t have $50 to spend for a weekday top that is just as poor quality as something I can get from H&M for $30 and have $20 left over. I certainly don’t have over $100 for a shabbos dress. I wish there existed a frum clothing store for women that catered to those of us who are lower income. I know it may be financially impossible for such a store to thrive, but I feel like there are soooo many women like me who would love a more moderately priced store.

There are. Clover in boro park is very well priced

ive been looking at Mod-est Swimwear Paris on Insta. Amazon etc don't do things as pretty as that, but its just crazy expensive for low income!

I have this one on etsy. It's not "cheap" I guess but it probably costs around the same as buying a bikini set. (I say, as a BT.) You need separate leggings though. (Maybe this is gross but I just use regular leggings, not swim ones.)
