I feel it takes me much too long to clean our Israeli type salon, entry area and adjoining kitchen floor. We are talking about 500 sq. feet altogether.
I first sweep up with a broom and then mop the floor with a rag and a bucket. Can't do sponga cleaning because there is too much furniture that shouldn't get wet.
It takes me 30 minutes from beginning to sweep to end of mopping, I just measured the time. The floor is quite dirty in general, we live on ground level, kids run in and out all day and track in dirt, they also spill things and leave wrappers. Kitchen area has spills.
Is 30 minutes reasonable or am I too slow? How can I clean faster?

Get a wet and dry vaccum. Takes me 10 minutes.

I agree. I can’t sponja either and I love my Tineco, it cleans better than with a mop(for tile), it’s faster and I still have energy when I’m done.

And if you are a slow cleaner--I can't judge, IDK how big 500 square feet is, here we go by number of bedrooms, not square footage, but 20 feet by 25 feet sounds big to me--so what? Are you competing in the Olympics, Floor Cleaning Division? I assume the judges award points for how clean the floor is when you're done, so what you lose time-wise you may recoup in the "thoroughness" and "attention to detail" categories.
