Boys are easier to raise IMO
But girls stick around longer, usually living nearby, see the grandkids, they help out, you can have fun together as adults too.
So if I was voting for the short=term, I'd go with boys, but since I'm looking big picture, I voted girls. A girl can never have enough sisters, and a mother can never have enough girls. I don't think the same sentence holds equally true for boys.

1- In my community you are looked down on for having a daughter. Let alone only daughters the shame and humiliation
2- boys have way more opportunity to become who they want. Girls have a lot of doors closed because they get told that’s for boys, it’s not safe environment for a girl… also, girls usually put their families first and their jobs reflect that.
3- girls are always told to help and be mature from a young age while boys can do whatever they want bec well boys will be boys am I right
4- girls have to deal with periods and pregnancies and idk about you but I’d rather not have that forced upon me. |
a self hating girl here.
I am so sorry for you that this is how you feel.

I am so worried about this post.
Is your husband kind to you?
Is he treating you with love and respect?
YOUR REACTIONS TO THIS QUESTION MAY COME FROM BEING TREATED MISERABLY BY YOUR HUSBAND.
Can you figure this out?
If yes, please ask for help.

Nope. Personality is not dependent on gender. My son is my sweetest child. My girls are a mix of personalities.

If anything, boys personalities are often way sweeter/cuter then girls. There's just something to them.
I'm not a self hating girl, I embrace my feminine side when I want to. My masculine side is a lot more appealing to me though and I relate a lot better to that and to people ho have the same masculinity.

Bh my husband is the sweetest. He actually wants another girl so our daughter has a sister. But it’s the comments I hear from my parents, in laws, relatives, neighbors, friends…

This is concerning.
1- what kind of public shame and humiliation do parents of girls face?
2- why do you see it as a negative that girls put their families first?
3- You might have a point. I don't know your community. In my community boys are expected to be little men as soon as they turn bar mitzvah. Girls are given more time to be young- plays, projects, clubs, camp, sports etc.
4- Are periods and pregnancies really forced upon girls? Would you say that puberty and fatherhood are forced upon boys?

I have both B'h. If your girls are sweet and happy, it's a Bracha from above. If your boys are getting up and learning Bein Hazmanim (age 15) and build your Succah, It's a Bracha from above. It has to do with children's personalities, and how parents deal with each child.

I think it's interesting that according to the poll right now, 65% prefer GIRLS
But most people who took the time/energy to comment say BOYS
Maybe it's easier to express in words why you would prefer boys, and people who would prefer girls don't necessarily know why?
Or maybe it's less PC (or sounds more shallow) to say what you like more about girls?

Nevermind, I just counted and got 10 boys, 16 girls.
I was just thrown because the first few comments were boys
