I was recently at a wedding with both Beri Weber and Shulem Lemmer (my 2 favorite singers), I couldn’t get over the beauty of their music, specifically because way they both sing from their hearts - I feel like I’m in another planet when I’m listening.
Made me wonder - do their families just get used to their voices and not think it’s special since they hear it so much ?
Do their kids realize their fathers are celebrities ?
Do their wives find it hard for them to he away alot for gigs ? ( I feel like Shulem travels a ton)
Do their wives appreciate their careers as much as the world does ?
I think it’s amazing that they both keep their families extremely private (no family pics on their instagrams) but I’m curious what they’re wives are like! Both are chassidish but are they the non driving shaving type of chassidish?
I can’t help have these nosy thoughts !
Respect to both of them for staying humble and using their talents in the way of kiddush hashem. Secondary respect to Beri for running a special yeshiva.

You can see an interview with Shulem on the meaningful people podcast.

Please let's not discuss their families and private lives. Let's have some respect.

Can’t answer for any of the families above, but being my husband is kind of in this industry, I get asked some of those questions;)
And to answer about getting used to the voice and not think it’s special question-
hahaha!
My husband sings the least at home! But we get to hear lots of nerve grating (for me! Not everyone finds it so annoying ) voice exercise.

I had to laugh when I read this cuz Beri Weber is married to my cousin. A normal kid. The nicest people. But yes, if you would pass her on the street you would never believe it. I’m not sure how he is at home, singing wise, but I don’t think it’s easy for her to go to Simcha’s without him all the time.
Shulem Lemmer happens to live in my neighborhood. It’s crazy how normal his whole family is. No airs about them. He sometimes davens in shul on Shabbos for the amud. And then we are in for a treat. But his wife also. Nice normal people.

I thought Shulem’s interview did answer some of those questions. He said he used to be away a lot for shabbos, but when his son made a comment that showed he was missed, he changed things around so he’s almost never away for Shabbos.

Of course they're normal people! Having a good voice doesn't change who you are.

I guess it depends...
My next door neighbor is a singer.
We hear all the choirs at their shabbos seudas.
The neighbors still enjoy 😉

That must be so nice to hear him daven on shabbos, most people have to pay a lot of money for that privilege!

It’s a job for them just like any other job. Many have day jobs as well. Frum celebrities aren’t like secular ones at all. I know several. They’re regular people.

Right, I know.
I honestly have never been curious about any celebrity, Jewish or not. I just find these 2 particular singers out of the ordinary, especially with regards to how soulful and full of heart their singing is. I’ve always been a huge music fan and the Jewish singers that I enjoyed over the course of my life were very very few and far between.
Also based on interviews and their mannerisms in person, even from a distance, seem unusual (in a good way) from the typical Jewish men I know and work with. I was wondering if this impression was true of them in real life and not just at gigs or interviews or on stage. All this curiosity led me to wonder what their families are like …

I understand that you may be curious.
But starting a thread with the intention of discussing certain families & their private lives, is really inappropriate & disrespectful. They keep their families & private lives off their social media for good reason, let's be decent & respect that.
It's very possible that their wives & families are on here.

I know one of the families. Really nice regular people. I’m so happy for them they kept their families out of the spotlight. I think this thread should be deleted
