Good to know! My Hungarian grandparents always said it, so I assumed it was Hungarian like the rest of what they said☺️

Interesting. My Hungarian grandparents used to say "asseh" after a sneeze, probably an abbreviated version of asisa. Perhaps the origin of the word is Aramaic, but this specific usage more common among Hungarians? What

No. It's just the pronunciation in that region for this Aramaic word

All my Hungarian family said asseh when someone sneezed. I thought it was Yiddish until my grandfather explained it came from the Aramaic word for health.

I named that independently from someone else who also did in the other country.
I just thought that that would make a cool name.
As soon as I announced the name, some people mentioned „I have a friend of a cousin who also has a Libi“ and by now it has become a trendy name.

I've long loved the name "Segula". Yes it's very uncommon. But it means a precious treasure. Klal Yisrael are called "am Segula." The sefer "shmos benai Adam" has very positive things about it too.

Funny. "asseh" means sneeze farsi (Persian).
