Is it worth it?
Which company do people have good experience with?
I've had Sears in the past and was very not happy. They didn't cover fixing the appliances that I needed then for so I ended up paying for a year for nothing.
We've needed several repairs on appliances lately and was wondering if a different company would offer better coverage or it's a total waste of money.

People have strong opinions on the value.
I think they are a waste of money
For the amount I would have paid over the years, it would have been much more than any service call I have had - not to mention being forced to use only certain repair people who aren't thrilled to do your job as opposed to someone else.
It is better to invest in reliable well reviewed appliances and just pay as necessary. I haven't needed a repair call for anything than replacing a thermostat in six years - and the cost for replacing the thermostat with a state of the art Ecobee smart model was far less than what premiums would have cost all those years.

We had a home warranty who ended up refusing to pay with the dumbest excuses. We ended up taking them to small claims where they refunded the cost of the policy.
