Not taking proper precautions due to the naive assumption that all men are appropriate would result in us allowing situations where some children will get molested (and others won't). |
So what shall we tell our husbands? I'm sorry, I can't allow you to be around your daughters without supervision because I don't trust that you're not part of the percentage of sick men that would molest them?
Do they need to undergo phycological testing just to be a part of their daughters lives?
Lovely, don't you think?

Would people think it’s a red flag if a female babysitter got into the bath (wearing bra and underwear) with a five year old girl? With the babysitter lying down in the bath and the girl sitting on her stomach

We shouldn't tell our husband's anything. We should also not be encouraging certain behaviors, and we should be pointing out certain things that bother us but men wouldn't necessarily get it on their own.
In this case, mom should not be encouraging & allowing husband to bathe the girls as daddy/daughter bonding time. Mom should be encouraging DD to bathe by herself & ask for help if needed. Mom should also not allow kids to be naked in the house. It's parents responsibility to instill a sense of privacy & boundaries in their kids. We don't want our kids growing up thinking that their bodies are for show.

Snowflake is a derogatory slang term for a person, implying that they have an inflated sense of uniqueness, an unwarranted sense of entitlement, or are overly emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions.
See if your post fits definition, especially the last line.

I agree with you in your scenario because there seems to be a lot more going on then just the father bathing his daughter.
But in general, I would not hesitate to ask nor would I discourage my husband to bath my 4 or 6 year old girls. I also don't think this is something men don't get on their own. perhaps your bil has this weird idea that this is daddy-daughter bonding time, there are some interesting things going on in that house according to you, but I doubt other healthy men see bath time as bonding time with their children, more like another chore to cross of their lists.

Sorry, I just don't see it. And I don't think that's a complete description of snowflakes either. How about inability to take care of ones own needs.

OMG! In what universe is this normal? I'm starting to think maybe imamother got transported to some tribes on the Amazon where everyone walks around naked besides for maybe a little strip of cloth.

I’m glad you said that! Thank you for validating me. This happened to me as a kid and something further did end up happening.

Of course. How not? For so many reasons.
How is this connected?

And your point? You were home alone with this babysitter, right?

That’s being spoiled. Not snowflake.
What makes you the judge and jury of what is correct behavior? You’re entitled to your opinion but keep your judgements to yourself. People obviously disagree with you.

Why so harsh? She just wanted validation that what she experienced is not acceptable.

Sorry, the thread just reminded me of this incident.
But back to the topic at hand, the kids walking around naked could be a cultural thing as some other mothers suggested. I still don’t think it’s ok at all.
I remember in a family friend’s house where the mother was from another country, the kids would all be naked as they ate dinner so they wouldn’t stain their clothing.

Op, aldo, I asked earlier and you never answered, how exactly do you know how exactly the father is spending bath time? Were you there during bathtime, in the bsthroom?

Because its beyond obvious that her example is not acceptable. I dont see why she even posted it. Its not comparable to what op wrote.

OK, why do you care this much? Chill! She's allowed to share.
Actually, the way I see it, it can be proving a point that children are not always more secure with females then they are with males.

So she was a bit off topic and wanted a bit of validation.
There is no need to be so militant.
