Do you leave it in plastic or cook in water alone in crackpot or or you add it to other cholenr ingredients like beans, barley, potatoes?
Is it salty?

Fill the crockpot with water. Keep the pastrami sealed in the shrink wrapped bag and drop it into the water. Turn on to low and cover cockpot with lid.

I do it without cholent! Straight in pot. I put it up right before I light so it’s not as overcooked.
Can be very fatty fyi and shrinks so if u have a crowd consider quantities.

Thanks everyone I put it with the plastic in my cholent and it was delicious. It was a little salty. Any suggestions for next time to decrease saltiness?

The only way to decrease saltines is to sort of rinse it off with boiling water before you serve it

If I open the bag and just put it in a lot of water in crockpot, separate from cholent, will that come out ok?

If you open the bag your cholent will have a weird coriander taste that you can't get rid of
