Some florals look awfully tasteless and some look trendy. You have to be careful.

Me and my daughter (working girl) bought the same sweater at Junees.

I'm not sure how it even happened.

We were both trying on a million things and we rang up separately and then we came home with the same sweater amongst other items.

In any case, the sweater suits me well and doesn't make a woman my age look outdated but it's really ehem on my daughter and she isn't wearing it.

I'm sure you didn't intend this, but working girl is a euphemism for harlot.

My personal opinion as someone who cares about looking good - try it on, if it looks good wear it 😁
I don’t go by rules and I’m considered a good dresser.

I’m seeing much less of the classic “black slinky” - more Aline/paneled skirts and long pleated.

No more chunky jewelry of any form.

Sneaker shoes are in, just nude tights underneath with no sock (this used to be considered the nerdiest thing EVER)

Depends on the context. Nothing wrong with it here.

My daughter was packing for her school shabbos last night. I asked her if she wanted to take her Monte Carlo for the bus ride home. She said Monte Carlo is out of style. She’ll take her black paneled skirt instead.
Who knew? How do people know this??

Well, I do that and my daughters criticize me. Some things from 5 years ago look good on me but apparently they are also really not worn anymore. Even some things from a year or two ago stand out.

I guess they want you be totally current from this season, if you care let them take you shopping for new clothes.

Ok… so I wear some of what is listed here. I know it’s not trendy but lots of in style things don’t look good on me due to my shape. So I wear what looks better on me but it’s really not current style- like a straight black skirt…. I have some pleated skirts that I wear often but honestly, the straight skirts look better on me (and make me look outdated).
Vneck vests are in style or the tops that have the vneck look?

My teenage girls seem to be embarrassed with me. They point out certain things I wear and tell me that- nobody wears that anymore.
We live in Lakewood. I don’t work so I don’t see people every day. I mean I see random people at the grocery, at an appointment… but no one I’m close enough to discuss fashion and style with.
I know the most important thing is to wear clean clothing that fits well and a nice shaitel with a little makeup…
What should I NOT wear so I don’t embarrass my family?

why dont you go to one of the big stores such as BSW and see what theyre selling???

Am I the only one who finds it kind of sad? Because of course there are trends in jewelry like with everything else, but high end pieces are supposed to be more enduring, fashion wise. People keep and wear them for a lifetime and pass them down to their children.

You want to be trendy or just not sorely out of style? Floral are going out, solids are in. A lot of light blues, tans, pink/hot pink, neon accents.
Longer maxi skirts and dresses, with cropped tops can still work.

Florals are still in, and I don’t think a mom of teens needs to try to be super trendy anyway. Classic always works.
