There are two types a smaller one that you fluff and a larger one that cooks more like pasta

The little boxed kind has good directions on it. Follow them exactly and you will be fine.

https://www.amazon.com/Couscou.....Y942/

First, boil the water. In a covered pot.
Put the spice package contents into this water. Before it boils is fine.

Then when it is boiling quite hard, empty the cous cous into it, stir a little with fork. Watch it boil uncovered, just briefly.

Let it boil hard for the count of five, just to kill any germs that might be in it. Not long.

Then, cover it and turn off the fire. Let it sit ten minutes. Covered. What will happen is the cous cous will fully absorb the water.

Then, uncover and see that it is a solid now. With a fork, draw deep lines in it, like spokes of a wheel in all directions. That is fluffing it up. And that's necessary or it will be too solid.

Cover again.

So convenient and fast.

Remember, this isn't much water, so it's going to boil up quite fast. This is stay-in-the-kitchen cooking.

This little box won't feed a lot of people. Maybe four people.

It is also available in bulk.

Assuming you mean Israeli petitim which people in American tend to call couscous (a pasta like dish, in the shape of small balls, but could come in many other shapes).

Pour oil in pot to cover bottom. Turn on low flame. When hot pour in petitim. Add salt (a bit less than1/2tsp per cup works for me), and black pepper, and any other spiced you'd like. Mix. Wait another minute, then pour in boiling water. Ratio is 1 cup of couscous to 1.25 cup of boiling water. Let simmer for about 6 minutes until water in almost absorbed and then let sit for another 5 minutes before serving.
