Not in the major Jewish city I live in, and not the one I lived in before this one either. Both are in the top 10 cities (I just googled).

I have never heard of the vaad controlling the pizza stores, though I think it's a great idea. In my city (and my previous cities) pizza shops were always open in Motzaei YT.
On the other hand, the pizza stores prob make a killing on motzaei yT.

Nope. Not in all. And not with that city’s hashgacha. And only by preorder, $100/pie with a limited number made.

I live here. I want to clarify - the $100/pie is not for the pie, it's for our local chesed org as a major annual fundraiser. The donation of $100 entitles you to one pie. And this restaurant is not under the local hechsher, they are under the chof k. The star k won't let anyone in town open until today.

I used to live in KGH and also there nothing is open until the next day.

I never realized star k was the reason we don't have pizza after pesach. I wondered why only the one pizza shop ever opened. Makes sense now.

And even then, that shop is not OPEN. You pre-pay the donation and you get the pie. It's not otherwise open.

Still haven't eaten any Chometz yet but I'm about to take my kids out for pizza. And then to restock the house.

Dinner will be yummy leftovers from Pesach.

So I did have pizza.... and then a rugala....
But I felt awful all night from it. I'm not sure what that pizza had. It tasted good though.
I don't think I'll do it again next year.

Hasn't it been open in the past? (Sorry, didn't mean to derail the thread.)

Never heard of this.

For many years there were issues becuase some owners of pizza shops would prepare dough in the freezer before pesach. And although we can sell chamatz at times, in that situation according to many bal machshers it is not ok.

So now we only have pizza a good 1.5 hour plus after zman motzia.
Dh went out to get some cereal and chips for this kids for school and he saw they are still making fresh pizza he picked up a slice for me. He went out to get the stuff only once all pesach stuff were already packed away and by then it was 12:30. I guess the mad rush was over, because at that time there was no wait anymore. That supermarket also has a bakery so we had fresh rugalach too already. Again it was 4+ hours after zman.
But they didn't have bread yet.

Still there are lots of people who will not buy chamazatz until the next day chatzas.

I made white pizza for dinner last night. Regular for the picky eaters.
DD with celiac brought oat matza with chocolate spread to school as her lunch.

I’ve seen it myself. Walking home from the watching seudas moshiach in shul.
I leave shul a few minutes before YT ends. I think all by the pizza shop (still closed) and there’s a massive line. (Pizza shop opens about 40-60 min after YT ends)

Idk how it is in my pizza shop. But my community holds your able to sell chanted in your freezer. (Idk if the pizza shop preps dough b4 YT, but if they did we hold its fine)
