I've been replacing ground beef with ground chicken or turkey for a while. Now that my husband is supposed to be watching his fat and cholesterol intake, it dawned on me that the ground chicken and turkey I've been buying until now is probably full of fat.
Does anyone know if there are stores that sell ground chicken or turkey breast (as opposed to the dark meat) without lots of the fat that I'm sure they grind up with the regular ground chicken or turkey?
TIA!

When I was in Satmar on New Utrecht they had both ground chicken breast and ground chicken dark. I think they had the same for turkey.

You can ask your butcher to make some for you. I have also seen it specified on the package- white meat or dark meat. remember ground dark meat turkey prob has the same amount of fat as ground meat....

Empire makes it. I saw it sold in Trader Joes.

If you're purchasing ground white meat turkey, there is not much extra fat that they can take out as white meat turkey is already extremely lean.
If you buy a turkey breast, just take of the skin - that's where the fat is in that cut of meat. Look at the raw piece of meat, it's easy to see any fat and take it off.
