and then showed up at a later ultrasound?

Someone just asked me if it's possible and I figured only moms of multiples would know that answer.

LOL green!

I have heard of people who have had a couple of ultrasounds throughout pregnancy and still had undetected twins. Have no idea how that can happen, but yeah.

My first scan was at 14 weeks. The babies were already big enough to see by then.
To answer your question, I could see how one baby could have been missed if the scan takes place when the woman is only a few weeks pregnant.

my friend had a scan at 6 showing one baby and then at 20 weeks. the sonographer said to them (at the 20wk scan) there's Twin A and ther's Twin b.
"oh no" says the husband, "we're only having one baby"
"oh no," says the sonographer "there's two!"

SILENCE

LAUGHTER...

Disbelief!

one had been behind the other.

I have a friend who had an u/s at 8 weeks, and another one at 20. They only found the twins at the second u/s. The second baby was high so when they found one at 8 weeks they didn't look around for a second. By 20 weeks they were bigger so both were seen.

Actually, my husband found a triplet that was not found at the beginning and the doctor confirmed that he was right.. But unfortunately, the third one disappeared after a few weeks..

A bit off topic but I have a relative that was told throughout her pregnancy that she was carrying twins and it was only during the c-section that they realized she was carrying another child. She was really having 3. Everyone was really surprised.
