At least 75% of olim make this mistake at some point. It's really really common and not even embarrassing at this point.

I don't understand how this happens. I don't know the exact words either and would probably say it wrong too since I don't use those words, but why would I be saying that? I'll get eggs myself and the cashier rings them up, when or I do self check out... I just don't understand where this conversation is taking place.

If I couldnt find the eggs I'd ask where are the בימים.

When I was newly married I accidentally emailed a male coworker in the header of the email- Somerdale @ss. (Short for association). I still cringe thinking about it.

You knew of a women’s mikvah at 7 or 8 years old?

On erev YK, yes. I lived in a very chasidish neighborhood and all the ladies would go during the day. We arent chasidish and my mother wouldn’t go so it was very strange for me to see.

Every month- no way!! Didn’t even know what a period was until I was 11 and got it 😂

LOL, that happens all the time with automatic shortening of names. It's no big deal.

I was a working girl at the time, I was very naive. I told my friend that my mom is soooo frum, she sometimes sleeps in white linen! 😛. My father is normal frum,so he doesn’t. Lol.

My mom was just having the easy way out, only changing her’s to white. I do mostly the same now 🤩

To prevent potential future embarrassment, you might want to refrain from referring to yourself as a "working girl" which is slang for a prost*titute.

It might've been related to wealth as well

What?? 🤨. In the frum world you wouldn’t say a working girl? So strange 🤔

This whole thread started with things people say that might sound normal in the very frum world but have a completely different meaning out there. Working girl is a perfect example! Makes me cringe every time I hear it.

“Living together” vs “sleeping together”

Sem girl says “oh yeah, Shprintzy and I slept together for a year when we were in seminary”

🙈
