I was going to make the KBD pistahio chicken skewers for the main course this shabbos (the one she shows in a vase for the appetizer)
Well my husband went shopping this morning and bought shelled roased and salted pistachios. That doesn't sound like it would taste could on chicken. Is it suppposed to be plain.
Just figured I would check if I can use - otherwise I have to find something else to serve.

it wont be a problem infact it would probably add flavour what I am worried about is they might burn while you are cooking I would suggest soaking them in water for an hour then I would dry them on a towel. good luck sounds good

I never made this before - it is from KBD I. I am not going to use the skewers because it looks like extra work. I also may skip the sauce - I couldn't find the blackberries or blueberries in my regular supermarket.
Pistachio Chicken Skewers with blackberry sauce
Chicken skewers :
4 boneless chicken breast
salt
black pepper
1 cup white wine
1 cup shelled pistachio nuts, roughly chopped
bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 15 minutes
Flaten chicken breasts. Cut each cutlen in 3 strips. Season with salt and pepper. Place in bowl. Add wine. marinate 1 hour. Preheate oven to 350. Roll each chicken breast in pistachios - press to adhere. Thread the strip accordian style onto the bamboo skewers. Bake on cookie sheet for 13 - 15 minutes turning once.
Blackberry sauce:
1 (15 oz can) blackberries or blueberries in heavy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp. water
Drain liquid from blackberries, reserve liquid and berries.
Comibine blackberry liquid with sugar and dissolved cornstarch in a small saucepan over med heat, wisking until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil; boil for 1 minute or until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in reserved blackberries.
Drizzle sauce over the chicken skewers and serve with remaining sauce on the side.
Yield 4 servings as an appetizers
