you can use a strainer if you have a heat proof type. take a pot that your strainer fits over like a cover, fill with a bit of water, put the strainer on like a cover and you have a steamer.

You can grate them or cut them thinly and eat them raw - delicious!

Use a little bit of water to cover the bottom of the pot, being careful that it doesn’t all evaporate and just stick the beets in and cover to steam. Part of the beets will be submerged and will lose some of the water soluble nutrients, but overall should be similar to using a steamer.

do you cube the beets or just peel and leave whole?
