If you're on universal credits, do you get more or less than you were originally getting on tax credits? And do you own your home, or you're renting? We're going onto it in a couple of months and I'm really nervous that we'll be getting loads less. How are you managing, and how does it all work? We own our home, have an average mortgage, plus getting childcare for 4 kids, plus one in a very expensive yeshiva! (obviously no childcare back for him)

we own home. we moved from wftc to UC and lost about 200 a mth but I think it's more BC only 1 kid under 18 now.....still getting a significant amount a mth.
we went down aswell based on earnings...which is fair.

Wow that's quite a lot. I hope others chime in soon. It sounds like most of us will lose money, or do some gain?

I never knew you could be receiving benefits if you own your own home.

Do you live in the UK? You obviously don't get housing benefit anymore but of course you get working tax credits etc if you're working!

Have you changes over and are getting less of more?
I changed a year ago and got a drop more I think.

I hope you are managing to make ends meet.

Hey BH I think we get around the same as we were getting originally. My Dh deals with it all so I don't know but I didn't need to worry. BH it has worked out but obviously it's on a month to month basis so anything can happen. I know 2 families that have had major issues with them. Both got their money back eventually (that they were rightfully owed) but it was a very tough time for both families. Anything can happen so long may it last iyH.
