Just got reminded of a really cringey trend we did.
We used to cut out designer brand names and logos from ads in magazines, and glue/tape them to the front of our looseleaf. Which we proudly held all the time instead of putting in our briefcase. You were really cool if you did this.
I dong get why I did this. Such a weird thing to do. Like what were we thinking?
The brands were not even highest level. DKNY, Ralph lauren, GAP, tommy hilfiger...LOL
Does anyone else remember doing this?

Gum that looked like cigarettes and had powder so when you blew out it looked like you were smoking. We thought it was the coolest thing ever.
We used to make a lot of prank calls to random numbers and I don’t think kids these days really do that
Highlights magazine (I assume it still exists but don’t think it’s circulated much in the frum world any more)

We called them "meat candy" because they looked like a piece of steak 🥩.
This thread is the best! I remember almost all of these things especially the tiny backpacks for trips and my skirt with a bandana to close of the slit on my cavaricci or Stevenson denim skirt.my mother was aghast at the trend of girls demis skirt having a fly on the front. I also had this other skirt with button all the way up the front and if you played too hard, they would all open at once.
I also remember when shobbos meals were very simple. No salmon (we only every had salmon steaks with bones anyway) no dips, no deli roll etc.
Supermarkets were tiny stores and didn't have takeout or sushi or anything like that.
Skipits, pogo sticks, moon shoes, hula hoops
Eagle no.2 pencils that had soft plasticy wood that sharpened so well. I haven't been able to find them now

We had a highlights subscription for years!! I think it was a present from my grandparents. Also waiting for the American girl doll catalog to come me and my sisters would fight over who got to look at it first
