Esti overhears Mimi telling Eli that 'these things happen when a girl who grew up without money marries into money', basically accusing Esti of funneling money out. Tells Eli he's the victim here, and says he must give Dina the money for house!
He doesn't stand up for Esti.
Mrs. Beckman senior has a heart attack.
At the hospital Dina tells Eli he can't go into his mother without her lawyer present.

This is absurd. Can none of them think for themselves? Doesn’t Mimi realize it’s not normal?
Also wondering how this dysfunction didn’t present itself in all the time that Esti’s been married.

It did, it just was never so bad until money got involved. At one point Esti tells Dina that they were never close, they just did their own thing and didn't get in each other's way or something.
I've met someone like Dina. Ironically, her name is Dina.....

She went with her kids to stay the night.
She had a conversation with her sister and had to do work so she went to her sister to work and her kids fell asleep there so she decided to spend the night and not go home.
Eli called at the end asking where she was and she told him she’s staying the night

Am I the only one who thinks she's being a bit self centered in not going home? Her MIL is in the hospital, she didn't even ask how she is, or show any concern for her husband. I was with her until that.
