A nod to my work in the potions industry Wink
Like a lot of people here, I'm a big Harry Potter fan, and Lupin's always been a favorite of mine.

Oh I’m slow. And I loooove HP. Just not such a Lupin fan. What about him are you interested in besides potions? His being a werewolf? (You know they say Biyanim might’ve been…)

I love the views and colors
Going more south you see the mountains and the sea.
Just thinking about it makes me want to go back

Oh yes it is beautiful. Haven’t been there in years though…

My favorite place was the Scottish highlands. (I feel like a bad Jew saying that at loud…) but those views of the mountains and lochs were other worldly.

What did you do today?

Hey, SuperWify! You are amazing how you roll out the questions. Do you have an automatic brain or something?

Yes sorry it’s a nasty question!

Yes my brain works fast. I can’t carry a normal conversation because I want to ask the next question but the person is still dragging on her response of my first question but I’m thinking about the next thing and then next….

Does the 4 in your username have an exciting hidden meaning?

Hmm...many things. He has certain qualities of some of my favorite teachers - passion for the field, a mode of teaching that fronts student participation, real respect for his students' abilities and intelligence.

As a character - he's incredibly competent, but not showy about it. Even-tempered (except during certain instances in book 7 that I think are so out of character I don't even know if it's worth trying to reconcile them with the rest of his character). I appreciate his commitment to try to mend fences with Snape.

I find his backstory interesting (can't resist a good tragic backstory). The first war and the Marauders are in general a topic I find intriguing (especially the way this era is explored by fans). I think of Lupin as a character shaped by suffering - losing his friends at a young age, suffering from a chronic health condition, along with deep societal stigma associated with aforementioned condition...he's a good man with a lot stacked against him - who still manages to maintain a sense of self, but who also suffers setbacks and insecurities because of how he is perceived by society.

Also, I appreciate that he is essentially a stressed out high school teacher, who, when you meet him from Harry's point of view in the context of his profession, is an adult (TM), but when you see more about him, you realize he's just trying to figure his life out.

Lol, there's probably more I could say about this, but that's all for now Smile

Wow, you nearly had me stumped on that HRH!! Well HRH happily came along on our Chol Hamoed trip to the science museum!
He kind of drives like he owns the kingdom but what should I expect?

That’s nice.

Right now I see a beach outside my window but that’s not my regular scene (far from it!).

What’s your favorite tv show?

Being by a beach sounds nice!

My favorite tv show would have to be Avatar the last airbender. It's the only show I can think of that I've watched multiple times and shown to other people. I love fantasy, and it's got some excellent characterization and character arcs. I think that having characters who feel real and who you can invest in is one of the most important things in a story, and Avatar absolutely has that.

Tell me about your first day in preschool, what do you remember?
Throwing up on the van and having to wear a weird change of clothes for the rest of the day. I had no idea what’s going on!

I go for occasional long walks with DH as a date. On nature trails. Not sure if that qualifies as hiking.
