Those were the days!! It’s funny Bec my parents used to take about their car phones and wired phones and my grandparents about the rotary phones!

Listening is an important skill!

As for me- I try to take them out one on one about twice a month. Special mommy time. With DH its our long Friday nights together! Can’t wait for the winter for this reason. We eat cholent, nosh and ice cream, shmooze for hours, talk about our childhoods, life, play games. Love it.

My grandmother had a rotary phone too, it was super fun to dial with (though it took forever).

I actually did not buy flowers because we are going to relatives for sukkos and the husband always makes it a point to buy his wife flowers, so I know they will have flowers already. We are bringing a food dish instead. I hope you get yourselves something nice for YT!

I bought myself a bouquet of yellow and white roses to go with my theme. Very pleased with how my table looks. My husband bought me the mishpacha and Ami and I got myself Reclaiming Dignity.

I have a history of taking on people’s problems. If you complain to me about something, I will take it as a personal cry for help and will bend over backwards to help you out. If you asked me for a favor, I would never say no.
I was asked to make bagels for a family Chanukah party. I obviously didn’t say no even though I was asked pretty last minute and had a lot going on that day. I had extremely bad anxiety at the time which was only exacerbated by an having an unnecessarily large workload.
The bagels had to be ready by a specific time. As the time got closer and closer, my anxiety got worse and worse.
When it was the time that the bagels should have been done I had a complete meltdown since they weren’t ready. I was so hyper focused that they need to be ready by x time that it felt like the world ends once I passed the deadl. I burst into tears and just sank to the floor and probably freaked out my niece and nephew whom I was babysitting. It was a really low moment for mental health wise. I felt that anxiety was my life now and I would never be able to accomplish all the things I used to.
I called my husband, sobbing. He b”h is extremely rational (unlike me) and calmed me down by saying the above statement. It might sound stupid and “duh!” to everyone else but it was mind blowing to me. I got so bogged down by deadlines that I never stopped to think “what’s the worst that could happen?” And realize that the worst case scenario isn’t actually that bad.
It was extremely crucial for me and really helped me learn to deal with my anxiety.
I’ve b”h come so far since.

Could it be your meltdown was really a panic attack? It took me time to realize thats what it is when it this happens to me. It happens when I’m failing to make a deadline and I panic and my thoughts start spinning about what a hopeless embarrassing failure I am.

BH I’ve come very far too.
