I put steaks into a pan, sprinkle some steak seasoning on it, garlic, sometimes a bit of onion soup mix, and then slice up an onion into rings, layer that on top, slice up a couple of potatoes, and layer that on top. Cover the pan with foil and cook at 290 for several hours until meat falls off the bone and is completely tender. Uncover the pan at the very end, so the potatoes can get crispy.

Still working out this week's menu, but this is what I'm thinking:
Tomato Soup with basil, red onion and mozzarella cube garnish
Cauliflower cheese pie with grated potato crust
Roasted vegetables (sweet onions, asparagus, beets and carrots) with herb dressing
Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse topping (never wound up doing it last week, so it's back on this week's menu)

Tonight...shabbos dinner is whatever my mum is making. ::sigh::....I love these kinds of shabbosim.
I've been so nauseous lately that I can't even think about cooking! My husband mentioned that there were some fruits going bad in the fridge....I thought about it and say "Wow...I honestly don't think I've even opened up our fridge door in four days!! I've been on the couch eating rice cakes and rice. It's the only thing I can stomach.
