I have covid (not my first time). When I am sitting down my oxygen is ok, when I walk around it’s going into the low 80’s high 70’s. My doctor told to go to the ER but I refuse because my experience last time I went there with Covid was awful and barely anyone came to help me with anything, I couldn’t get visitors, it was awful and I was starving and peeing on my self in the time it took for someone to unhook me to go to the bathroom. Is everything better than a year ago or do I still want to avoid the hospital at all cost?
I have prednisone and albuterol at home.

Sats in the 70s is a very significant problem. You need to be above 88 at minimum. Save brain cells and go to the ER Lman Hashem.

I know it’s not good, but then what? They will stick me in room with some oxygen and neglect my basic needs? I am more scared of being neglected (again) by the hospital than staying home and taking it easy and being with my family and just calling if I have an emergency/ numbers don’t go up. Not willing to go unless I can have someone go with me and help take care of me (which the hospital doesn’t let in the Covid ward).

It’s gotten a lot better with covid than it was . Please make sure you aren’t hyper coagulated.

Do you know anyone who is in hatzalah that can give you oxygen or treatments at home?

I don’t know if it’s the same in all hospitals but are there even covid wards any more? I was in the hospital (visiting someone) about a year ago and there didn’t seem to be a covid ward, some of the rooms on the floor indicated the patient had covid and anyone who went in had to gown up from head to toe (but they weren’t keeping people out)! I really don’t think it’s the same as how you’re remembering it but obviously I don’t know your specific hospital…

I live out of town, no hatzala/ oxygen at home, I got the antibodies already 4 days ago from Bikkur Cholim. I have a nebulizer/ albuterol and my pcp prescribed steroids. What else would a hospital do besides oxygen?

Depending on where you live bikur cholim may have oxygen concentrators available. This allowed many Lakewood Covid atients to remain at home at a time when hospitals wee mistreating or neglecting them, saving lives. At these levels you shou reach out to them even on shabbos. It is a possibility of pikuach nefesh.

They don’t have them here, I know they have been trying. They didn’t have any suggestions, just told me to go to the hospital and they would check in on me , but am strongly hesitant, especially on Shabbos. Don’t feel like it’s an emergency because my breathing is better when I am taking it easy, I just am too short of breath when I walk around.

I actually have a ton of blood thinners (heparin / clexane, etc ) at home from my last pregnancy (I have a blood clotting issue so I take them whenever I am pregnant or flying or other high risk situation) , probably no risk for me to just use them?

Heaven help please. You need baseline numbers

I don’t think it’s wise to be getting medical advice from imamother OP. This sounds like a potentially serious health issue. You can’t listen to a bunch of frum ladies with no medical training. You’re trusting us to tell you if blood thinners could be risky? Googling would be better than asking here.
It sounds like you’re traumatized by your hospital stay during COVID in the beginning which makes a lot of sense. I hate that you went through it
I doubt hospitals are anywhere near as crazy now as they were then. The fear that the medical staff felt isn’t there because we know the virus isn’t that bad for the majority of people who get it. Maybe call and ask what their policies are for covid patients? It can make you feel more comfortable if they sound normal.

Lol, I do check my inr and pt once a month.
I am not totally neglecting to care for myself. I would set up another video visit with my doctor but she won’t order outpatient blood work while I have covid. She just wants me to go in.
Only someone who spent 3 weeks being neglected in the hospital and kept away from my family can understand my hesitation to go there. I have so many stories of how long I was waiting for basic needs or sitting in my own vomit for hours, not able to get up, it was a nightmare and caused me major fear of hospitals.
It can’t be so bad to take without baseline data if they give it to me preventatively before any flight without blood work.

You need a CT of the chest to make sure you don’t have a blood clot in your lungs which can be very serious and a cause of low oxygen. That’s the reason to go to the hospital. You may need blood thinners. This is not something you play around with. I know it’s close to shabbos but you need a work up at the ER.

And the dose for preventing blood clots and treating clots are very different. Especially if you know you are already prone to clots this is not something you can ignore. Go to the ER. The stories of Covid patients being ignored were real but they are no longer happening. There are only a few patients in the hospital at a given time with Covid.
Go now.

You take blood thinners before a flight. You check PT and INR monthly. You obviously have significant health issues even before the COVID. Why are you asking health questions on imamother? What do you think people can answer you here?

Yes I have thrombophilia, and have gotten blood clots before and also got really sick with Covid last time. I am not asking for medical advice, I am asking what I can do outside of the hospital.
