The story is getting really dumb already.

Does the author realize that bais din is only about money issues. Any other issue you need to go to court. How can Dina threaten esti with bais din that she follows her around? And let them go to bais din stop with the threats it’s stupid Dina will lose she doesn’t even have a case for bais din legally the business belongs to Eli she doesn’t even have a case

however, it can feel emotionally like a huge step to take family to bais din R"L
sad and embarrassing
and can feel like another level of family estrangement chas v shalom
feels adversarial though can settle the confusion
its a dispute
and more formal
people generally are hoping they can resolve it more amicably and privately between themselves
as going to bais din can also feel like no one is truly going to come out of this family dispute the winner if it deepens the rift even while clarifying and resolving the actual issue

I really liked this weeks segment, felt like we're actually going somewhere. This is the first time I've seen Esty acknowledge out loud that she has no marriage, and Dena is finally going to bais din. So looks like things are starting to move.

I missed the week where they find out who would win in bais din. What did Esty find out?

This week basically Esty is shaken up from the talk with her boss. Esty talks to her sister & decides to have Eli's uncle talk to him. There's a knock on the door and a messenger is there handing them legal documents & telling them they've been served.

In short.. Eli is handed court papers, his mother is suing him. He feels like a failure. Esty thinks it's a mistake and calls her mil, who says Dina pushed her to do it and she doesn't want to talk about it. Elis uncle arrives and tells Eli they're crazy, but ends off saying he'll pay Dina everything she was promised.

Could Esty have done better?
I wonder though if Dina will be satisfied, doesn't she want unlimited funds?

Of course though according to the Ami rhetoric, it’ll still somehow be Esti and Eli’s fault. The same way when Miri and aryeh took a step back from his parents everyone was up in arms.

I don’t think it’s realistic for the mother to sue Eli

Dina and her husband sure

But not a mother
