My family consists of men at the moment (no kids currently), some of whom don't understand a meal without meat, and are also not huge fans of milchigs, but will eat it if there's no other choice. I was also explicitly told "no tofu!".

What am I supposed to make for the 9 days? There are only so may ways to make fish!

I'm in the same dilemma. DH and bucherim dont like dairy or parve meals. Some of my Little kids are allergic to milchig. I got so excited to see this thread as I'm also searching for solutions.

Would they go for pita and falafel?

Falafel, soy schnitzels instead of real ones in a schnitzel sandwich, hot dogs with soy sausages.

How have they survived the 9 days until now?

Impossible burgers
Pasta with pareve meat sauce or pareve meatballs
Veggie stir fry over rice

And some days of fish or dairy

It's really only 6 days, if you think about it. They can eat meat on Friday and Saturday dinnertime because they're Shabbos seudas. And nobody's eating on Tisha B'Av.

It's not that many days. Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. And then there is the erev Tisha B'av meal.

Tuna steak, baby potatoes, broccoli
Sole roll ups, green beans, sweet potato fries
Salmon skewers, rice pilaf, grilled veggies
Sushi or poke bowls
Fish tacos (or beyond beef tacos) with all the fixins

Load up on extra sides if needed.

I don't remember lol. But they did somehow, obviously.

Like someone said, it’s only six dinners. Everyone will survive. Provide all the fixings and condiments, and either fresh fruit or a big yummy salad.

Parve cholent
Fake hot dogs
Pita and falafel
Impossible Burgers
Salmon
Pizza one night

Eggplant meatballs have a very meaty taste and consistency. I don't usually use an exact recipe, but this one looks fantastic.

Bean burgers and vegetarian chili are also good, hearty options.

Can you suggest at least one of them make a siyum? Unless it's your minhag not to.

Fish can be prepared to look like schnitzel.

Regular Haddock goujons

Or a white fish in cutlets dipped into myonaise/ ketchup mix. Then in cornflakes or cornflake crumbs and baked in the oven well. Really good.

Salmon marinated in soy sauce , honey and mustard and then baked.

Tuna cutlets baked - tuna mixed with eggs and matzo meal and shaped into patties

Just remind them that it's not meant to be enjoyable!

Give them a copy of Eicha to read to put things into perspective. Really its a few nights with shabbos in the midddle so at most people will go 2 or 3 day without eating meat.

But yes, lots of fish. Most people love breaded fried fish.

If making falafel an israeli shtick is to have latkes in a pita with all the falafel fixings. (its an army thing I think....) Or fake meat prepared shwarma style.

I really don’t understand this fad of making a siyum strictly to be able to eat meat.

My husband makes or goes to a siyum almost every night….

Some people don’t get satisfied from dairy or parve.
