I always davened brochos every day. After covid I added Krias shma and shemona Esrei .
It takes less than 10 minutes.

I did every single day for 20 years. I made a deal with G-d when I was in labor with my kid. Said kid announced yesterday that he's not frum anymore. I didn't daven this morning. My tefillot don't work. Not for frum kids, not for shidduchim for my kids. G-d is obviously busy listening to the tefillot of bigger tzaddikim than I.

Im so sorry for what you and your family is going through

Your child has there own bechira. This is something we love to forget. It clearly states that you get schar for praying on this world and on the world to come so your prayers were definitely not for nothing.

I recently bought a birchas hadhachar card. It has everything the main things to daven including shma till vayomer and the ani maamins. I leave it in a very obvious place. It's really helped me remember to daven and be motivated.

Brachos for the most part every day. I have a goal of davening Shmone Esrei every day. Sometimes I don't have the time until mincha. Sometimes I don't get to it at all. Even if I don't feel the connection, I feel so much better when I daven Shmone Esrei.

Yes. It looks different than it did before kids, but I do daven from a siddur every day. Sometimes it’s while feeding a baby and sometimes I go straight from amida to aleinu but I try not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I grew up with a mother who davened every day and it left an impression that I would like to leave on my own children.

I will take your tefillos ANY DAY! You are not a jinx.
I don't know what else is going with your son, but if he's focused on what he wants to do with his day, and he's a mensch, this is a great launching point for his life. Maybe those tefillos are in a holding place, some sort of escrow, till he's ready to start moving back.

I took a hiatus from regular tefilla, with the exception of birchos hatorah/hashachar every morning (wouldn't eat anything before I said those), when I had small children. Started up again when my kids were older.

For those saying they don't feel pulled to daven, it's an avodah! It doesn't always come naturally, we need to work at it.

I once read a story, a man came to a rav and said "what should I do, my wife says it's hard for her to connect to tefillah". The rav said "the more regularly she davens, the more she will find the ability to connect. Make sure you help her find the time to daven every day."
