I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Dr. Dovid Levy, psychologist (Monsey & NJ) for their ADHD/defiant child.

Thank you

Hello! Not sure if this is still relevant but I have spoken to Dr. Levy and am very familiar with the Nurtured Heart Approach. It is an excellent tool for supporting an intense child. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. Smile

Yes, he really understands kids. He also provides support to parents of difficult children and trains parents on the Nurtured Heart Approach in both group and private settings.

There are quite a few nurtured heart books out there. I recommend ‘Transforming the Intense Child Workbook’

Dr. Levy website:
https://www.transformedparenting.net/

I have done lots of training in NHA and I am a huge fan!! I use it at home and in the classroom!!

Thanks for the recommendation.
Someone else told me to get Transforming the Difficult Child Workbook. How do the two differ, in what way is one better than the other?

Yes! My husband and I did Dr. Levy's Transformed Parenting program which was phenomenal- highly recommend! We had been given his name by Relief and joined the program with the goal of helping our son with his explosive behavior and emotional regulation issues. All of our kids (and we as parents!) have really benefited tremendously from the NHA model and specifically Dr. Levy's teaching and coaching us through the program. Our son is now doing therapy with Dr. Levy and loves it- it is such a difference from the previous therapist that he had been seeing before. Dr. Levy has been fabulous to work with and we are so grateful to have found him BH. Happy to answer any specific questions!

Hi! Not sure if this is still relevant but I see I never answered you. The workbook is good because it takes your through the concepts with hands on questions. If you really want to learn about it I recommend doing the course.

New poster here but my husband and I took a Nurtured Heart Approach course this summer and it was LIFE CHANGING. Our ADHD daughter is 9 years old. All I can say is she’s been invited on more play dates since this school year started than the entire year last year.
