Any idea of not too expensive end of year gift for the gannenet/assistant? It can be something small, just a token of our appreciation but I can't think of what? A religious article, a personal item, a gifty type thing?
Any preschool teachers out there who can tell me what you'd like?

One year I was in charge and I got them a havdala set with oil for besamin and a fancy beeswax candle. they told me quietly that it was so much nicer than all of the potted plants and stuff. Look in spa type shops, not commonly done but the gannenot like it.

Are you giving a gift together with all the parents? or will it be just from you?
When we gave with all the parents, then they usually went to the local gift shop and got some type of fancy vase or something.
I think for a gift just from you, if you want something small, maybe a nice picture frame? and a card to go with it.

Thanks for the ideas! For the gannanot we got a bracelet with a gift receipt and for the tzaharon teachers I think I will go to the Judaica store tomorrow and find something. I like the idea of getting something like the havdala set.
In the other gan they gave a book but that seems more formal and less personal.

I was going to suggest do what I did - a peice of costume jewellery which can be exchanged if needed. But you had the same idea.
