My youngest son has a few friends he wants to get together with. Of which some never respond or request a play date. I have tried to no avail. I am thinking of two. First one always makes up some excuse, and this sameone was invited to his bd day party. I made a sportsman's bet with daughter that he will not come, and if he replies that he is he will not show. He did the latter. I gave up on that child, but my son has not. The second one lives TWO blocks away (most live 2 miles plus) and NEVER calls. I have called, and again excuses. I have seen this child at a friend who lives two houses up. My son plays with the boy two houses up, plus the kids who live across the street. He always askes for these two boys. I feel as if something is going on. Should I inquire??

Instead of inviting for a specific time, ask when is it a good time b/c your son really wants to play w/ him at your house.
No playdate at all, in either house?

Sorry it doesn't sound good. Maybe talkt o your son and see what he thinks. It doesn't sound like they want to play with him. Forcing the issue with the kids won't solve anything

Why don't you invitet the kid to go out with you for the day? Even if he does not like your son right now, for whatever reason, he may want to go out. And perhaps friendship will blossom.
