I don't think the husband is a nice guy at all. He is really nasty to her. She has her issues . She definitely is very needy, demands a lot of aryeh. Wonder why Aryeh chose to tell the father about his upcoming changes as opposed to telling his mother first.

Does no one else remember that Miri's mother overheard Aryeh's father screaming and yelling at his mother when Aryeh accidentally did not hang up the phone? It was made clear that Aryeh's father is verbally abusive.

Actually, I’d I remember correctly, we never found out what she overheard, more that she was horrified by the yelling. I think the author wrote it in a way that we’ll assume that it’s the father, because all we knew was that Aryeh saved his mother from his abusive father.
Up until this chapter I was sure we’re going to find out that the father is just a victim of an abusive wife who acts like a victim, but in this chapter the father’s behavior was very cruel. Even though the mother has her own issues, I doubt the father is an angel, after all.

I think it was made clear it was the father yelling- when miri's mother is debating whether or not to tell her husband what she heard and also when she confronted Aryeh's mother.
This is not to minimize the mother's culpability which is major.

Did Bella call Miri? Because if she did I think it’s good that she didn’t tell Aryeh.
Whatever she told her, would not be good for him to hear.
They need boundaries and this would make it harder for him to implement it.
