im a shadow for a girl with a medical issue in a regular bais yaakov school.
I am with this girl for few years already, but now she started first grade.
I dont know how im supposed to regard the teachers room.
I know that I can go in for coffee and water (the school gets a budget from the municipility for me) but as a shadow is it maybe not my place?
I try to steer clear by recess and go in only between lessons when maybe only a handful of morahs are present.
dear morahs how do you feel about us extraterresials?

I work in a school. Don’t see it as a problem.

You can definitely act as another staff member in the school - teacher's room, drinks, whatever else. You are not second class just because you're not a regular teacher!

The more you blend in the better. My son was convinced the second grade morah of the classroom next to him has a male assistant. I think he is some ones shadow but its better for the boys to not know that and just assume he is a classroom assistant instead.

Go right ahead! You are a valuable member of the school team. You belong. Mingle a little, maybe you'll get more comfortable as you get to know the other staff members more.

You are a staff member like anyone else. The secretary is also a staff member.
