I like to put in green lentils, water (about equal to the amount of lentils, more if you want it to have some liquid left at the end), diced tomatoes, salt/spices, and I add a small piece of meat or even some sliced hot dogs for extra flavor.

Are you looking for something other than cholent? Growing up Chasidish that’s our typical Shabbos lunch crockpot dish. It’s super easy and really cheap. It’s beans, potatoes, sautéed onions and a little meat or chicken, with water and spices or any sauces you’d like (I put bbq sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, mustard, honey/maple syrup sometimes and sometimes even Coca Cola)….

Yes works every time BH!
One of my kids loves chicken soup & I do it for him
Water, carrots, dill in cooking bag, parsley in cooking bag, chicken bottoms, salt & chicken consommé .
Or I guess anything else you like in your chicken soup.
2 tips I have . 1. In order to avoid a very over cooked chicken soup taste, I put the chicken in frozen 2. Don’t put too much dill or parsley bc it can discolor the soup, or avoid all together
Put everything on Low right before Shabbos

My last roast that I did was wine mustard salt pepper and onion soup mix. Cooked overnight on high(was a mistake I should've done low). You couldn't taste the wine. It was delicious. Super soft. And yummm. Make sure you use a fat roast - not a thin brisket. Like top of rib or soemthing like that.

How much of each ? Mustard ? Wine ? Soup mix ?
Also any extra water so it doesn’t become dry ?
