Did your therapist leave in November for private? We might be seeing the same one

I pay $160 and I am assuming my therapist has gone up since I started.
(Honestly, don't throw tomatoes, but I wish she'd raise my fee. How does it usually work; do therapists not raise their fee for existing clients?)

I'm surprised at these responses, I thought 250 was an average amount to be paying. (seeing a very experienced therapist) |
I'm seeing a very experienced therapist in NY, with a LCSW AND a PhD.
$120 for 45 min.

I think mine probably also raised his fee but kept fee for existing clients (I no longer see him so I wouldn’t know anymore)

Why do you want her to raise her fee?

Because it makes me feel guilty that I'm in therapy all this time, while most clients are paying much more. It feels wrong to pay someone who is there for me so very little.
I'm weird like that.

Wow!
Have you been their client for a while, or is this current rate?

No, I started within the last year.
It's a sliding scale fee. And I'm on the lowest end.
Here's the big but, my therapist is not Jewish/not frum..
I know this would he a big obstacle for lots of people.

I feel like I'm overpaying. $350 is far from the norm I see.

Mine isn’t either. It never occurred to me for it to be an issue

Not in November. I’m sorry we’re both dealing with this! I might stop seeing her soon because I have room in my budget for the amount I was paying at the clinic, not more than that.
