Sure do, kind of thought the same thing. I'd be disappointed, annoyed or frustrated, or in extreme cases "aggravated." Sadness is reserved for things like illness, death, poverty and significant loss. Thank G-d I can be annoyed and not sad at the loss of a sack of rice.
But not everyone is blessed with a precise vocabulary. Thank you, Mrs. Messerschmitt, Mrs. Grant, Miss Holmes, Mrs. Eisen, Mrs. Wikler, Miss Goodman, Mrs. Harvey, Mrs. Posen, Ms. Epstein, and Ms. Karlov, English teachers all, wherever y'are.

Same with the sad rice thread. Didn't read it. I might never know why she was sad. Maybe because the many grains of rice reminded her of tears. Sensitive soul ...
