I used to know many, many of the words. It has been 2 decades and I certainly haven't retained the lists of 2 and 3 letter words.
But wordle only uses common words, so no need to remember that ai is a word (it is a three toed sloth) or what words use a 'q' with no 'u'.
But a lot of the principles of word finding and letter sequences still apply.
