Bh you had a top doctor check him. You said a comment she said that he’s working too hard to breath.
Firstly, is your baby eating
Secondly if he works too hard , meaning he’s breathing very fast or ribs are coming in a lot when breathing even if his oxygen level is fine , it’s important to go to ER.
I’m not a first time mom, but if I had a baby like that I would be by the doctor everyday unless things are getting better .
Why did they order antibiotics, did the doctor hear that there’s something going on? Chest X-ray was clear right. Did they do nasal swab it’s likely another virus .
Like I said earlier I had my baby the same age, no fever but coughing , and over the span of a few hours stopped eating much , and I noticed her breathing fast when I picked her undershirt up. Please just be on top of checking your baby’s breathing. I don’t mean to scare you, it’s to give you knowledge that can help you.

Yes she told me to keep an eye and see if he’s struggling to breathe. He’s not breathing fast, she just didn’t like the way the stomach contracted on the bottom. Whatever. And I’ll be back Wednesday to check again again.

He’s nursing same often as always, spitting up a bit more than usual maybe and burping 2.5 hours after a feed. Which was since he’s born

I'm very against giving babies abx and I think in your situation, I'd seriously consider giving it right away. If there was something seen on an xray and baby is retracting under the ribs while breathing, I'd think it would be wise to give it. You can always detox or whatever afterward. It's just not worth the risk with such a tiny baby.

When my babies were congested, I would feed in them in the bathroom with the hot shower on. The steam did wonders for their breathing. Sometimes I would let them nap in there in their bouncer

I don’t think that’s safe to allow a baby to nap in a warm or hot steamed bathroom. I wouldn’t do it and I’ve heard really dangerous stories .it’s ok to stay in a steamed bathroom for short period of time - 10 minutes as long as it’s not too hot.

I know this seems like a small idea but can’t hurt. If you are breastfeeding then take extra vitamin c. The vitamin will transfer through the breastmilk to your baby and help.

My son had same breathing issues even younger. At 4 weeks he developed a fever and I took him to er.
It was horrible.every test was negative. They put him on the ventilator. Chasdei hashem somehow we got out of hospital 2 days later. I took him to an allergist. Turns out he had allergies and asthma. The hospital wasn't able to figure anything out. You do not want to risk a visit to the er. The doctor gave him daily medication in the nebulizer. It took a while for it all to clear up

I do take a considerate amount but not tons. I’m actually going to give him today sodium ascorbate. Heard it helps wonders

This is dangerous, never leave a baby in a steamy bathroom for more than 10 min at a time.

On Sunday all tests were negative, but Monday I got a phone call that it’s covid positive. He had fever the next 2 days and is Bh feeling much better. The scary cough turned into a dry cough only when he cries. I don’t need to jump up when he starts coughing. His very noisy nose is still going on and is extremely annoying! Nebulizer is so hard to do, will it clear up on its own? Isn’t it like a cold?

So sorry you’ve been dealing with this! My baby is recovering from Covid. He’s been pretty congested, having a humidifier in his room and suctioning has helped. It does get better, it’s been about 10 days and he’s no longer coughing or as congested but still has a runny nose. I wouldn’t worry unless he’s wheezing or struggling to breathe but continue suctioning etc

Thank you, his congestion is going on for about 4 weeks. And I’m hoping it’ll be gone in no time. Bezras Hashem

If he has a bad case(which this sounds like) you really need to do everything to try to keep his chest/nose clear. People dont like to talk about the severe problems babies are having during and after covid but its not a cold for some...
