Looking for good soup recipes that can be a complete meal (with protein.)
Bonus if it can be made in a crockpot.
TIA

My kids love home made ramen. Its a real meal in a bowl. I make it in the instant pot but you can use a crockpot too. https://www.number-2-pencil.co.....up-8/

I’ve done mushroom barley. Official recipe calls for turkey or chicken bones. I put in chicken bottoms.
I’ve seen people put flanken instead if that’s your thing.
And yes, dd it in croc pot

I grew up on "Hamburger Stew." You can make it in as many variations as you want.

Fry up a pound of hamburger in the bottom of a large soup pot. Use paper towels to remove most of the grease. Add a can or two of tomato pulp.

Add as many of these as you want:

Carrots
Potatoes
Celery
Fried onions
Garlic
Parsnips
Zucchini
Frozen green beans
Etc, etc.

Add salt and pepper, and any herbs that sound good to you.

This is even better the next day, and it freezes really well if you don't add potatoes. (Frozen potatoes get all weird and mushy.) You can put it in a Thermos and take it for lunch.

My mom always made a huge batch of it. We could eat it all week and not get tired of it. If you add a green salad, or some garlic bread, then you have a really fancy meal.

It's from the green pupa cookbook. I can post a picture soon if you don’t have it.

"Cowboy Chili."

Fry up a pound of hamburger in the bottom of a large soup pot. Use paper towels to remove most of the grease. Add a can or two of tomato pulp. Add 3 cans of beans, different types. I like black, pinto, and kidney beans. Add a can of corn.

Adjust seasonings to be as mild or spicy as you want. You can leave out one of the cans of tomato pulp, and use a jar of salsa instead. Simmer until thick. Stir often and scrape the bottom, so that the beans don't burn.

If you use parve "beef crumbles", then you can smother it with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped red onions. YUM!

You can also scoop up some of the chili with a slotted spoon, and fry in a pan until it's fairly thick. Then you can use it for burrito filling. The important thing is that the chili isn't too wet.

The Hamburger stew and the Chili can both be adapted to cook in a crock pot or an instant pot.

We like to do turkey soup with noodles, veggies, and ground turkey meatballs. Kids love it and it's a complete meal.

I just made the chicken/ vegetable soup from last weeks whisk magazine.
It’s with cubed chicken cutlets, carrots, celery, corn (I used baby corn) and orzo.
