Hi all,
I need your help my DH wants to go to the US.
I was wondering were could I find info on Sephardic communities in the US
I'm going to be totally honest here...
I'm frum but trendy... a funkyfrum type dresser and would wilt if I moved to a frum community were people would expect me to wear a short dark shaitel and navy and black clothes. As a fashion stylist that would not just make me unhappy but scared that my blonde slightly below shoulder length shaitel and love for happy colors and designers might make me an instant not good enough friendless outcast.
Ok , I know I sound like a tart but I'm really scared of being forced to become someone I'm not. My kids are still young but there are very few frum kids were we live.... , So my DH feels we must go. He is a great guy so I will go wherever he goes.
My son is young but has an amazing mind and I want him to expand his knowledge so good Yeshivot would be a plus.
I'm thinking California or anywhere warm. Any thoughts...
I'm really struggling here so please don't make fun of me.
P.S. relatives are not in the picture as they live in a different continent.

South Florida has a number of Sefardic communities and they are growing very quickly.

tea neck, or is it great neck?
but can't you come here? I'm dying to meet friends that are frum enough to cover their hair but cool enough to dress "young"...

I think it might be Great Neck you're thinking of. They have a large Iranian community. And a very wealthy community to boot.
I know that Los Angeles is in general very trendy, but know nothing of the frum community. There is definitely an Iranian community there, but again, I don't know about the level of frumkeit, the resources, etc.
I was also thinking South Florida.

There are many communities where there is a mix of people. It sounds like you would fit in in a community where there is a mix of Chabad, MO, Litvish and Sefardi (Montreal and Pittsburgh come to mind, but the weather is not warm:()
