I never heard about R'Yehuda Hanasi's maid... interesting. I was thinking of someone else.
Yosef is from Torah. I was asking someone from the times of the Gemara.
You actually could say tefilas haderech in shul. If you know you'll travel you say it in shema koilanu before ki atah shomeia
Are you sure about this? Never heard of this. Most people know when they are about to travel. We always say Tefilas Haderech on the road, or on the plane as its taking off.
No, but that's good too. I guess there were lots of lame people!
I was thinking of someone in Navi. His name has a reference to his handicap.
ETA: And according to a Rashi in Shemos, the guards at Pharoah's palace turned blind, deaf and dumb when Pharoah sent them to run after Moshe (when he escaped to Midyan.)

Sometimes there is a sheila or machlokes if one should or shouldnt say tfilas haderech. So to prevent saying a barcha levatala you can say it in shmoneh esreh
Okay here are two questions, one easy and one hard (I think)
1. Which man lived the longest and how long did he live?
2. Which person died at an age that the first, second and third digit of his age was the same number?
