My 2 1/2 year old took his yarmulka off the other day so, I asked him he did that. He responded, "I'm not a chossid anymore." I was a little perturbed until he replied to my "why?" enthusiastically with, "I am a Rebbe!!"

Batsheva (just turned 2 erev Sukkos) took a long, late nap the other day. About 9 PM she came over to me and put her head in my lap. I said, "Are you sleepy?" and she answered, "yeeeeeeeess". After a pause she popped her head up with the most mischievous grin and said, "JUST KIDDING!" Older dd and I sitting there just about fell over laughing. Where do they get this stuff?

My 2 year old nephew mamash is adorable...
So he can't say his tr's- he pronounces them with an f instead. So tree is fee, train is fain, and he talks all the time about his big toy truck- (my big f-uck) and he says it all the time! Mommy, f-uck went away... And he shouts in the middle of the street "Mommy, a f-uck!"
Needless to say, his mommy is just the tinsiest bit embarassed, but we still can't help but cracking up.

Another thing he said to me the other day-
Binyamin and Shira (a friend) were having a talk, while their mommies were away.
Binyamin says to Shira, "Your mommy goes on bus."
So I said to Binyamin "Your mommy also goes on the bus."
He answers angrily "My mommy NO go on bus!"
So I ask him, "If mommy, doesn't go on the bus, how did mommy go to yerushalayim?"
He answers me ke'ilu with a rude tone of voice "How mommy get down stairs?"
I said, "she walks"
and he answers "yea, Mommy walk" with an air of resolution.
Omg I was just cracking up.

Once I was with him in the park and there were some trucks there making lots of noise, and he got scared, and he asked me to hold him and said "will you be my mommy?"
:-D

All the time, if he doesnt want you to do something, he'll say "My mommy don't let." One time, he said that to his mother, and she answered "yes, mommy lets" and then he answers "my abba don't let!"


He calls ketchup shek-up. :-D

Haha! Those are CUTE, breslov!

My son used to call ketchup shampoo.
In pizza stores he'd point and say, "Not our shampoo."

When he started cheider he learned the proper name. Wink

My 4 yr old ka"h, is trying his hardest to understand what it means when someone dies.
(In the parsha he learns about different people passing away, when a relative passed away a while back I tried explaining it to him and make him understand that it's a sad day, etc.)

On the first night of Chanukah he firmly stuck his candle into the first holder and it cracked. Nobody noticed until he told us: "My candle... died."

LOL

He was singing/reading Haneiros Halalu after lighting, and the version we sing has lots of "bum bum bum biddebum's," and he refused to continue because he couldn't find where it said "bum bum bum biddebum" on the paper!

Yesterday I took them all to the bakery to buy jelly donuts, and he announced: "There's flour all over the donuts!"
(I told him how smart he is, it does look like flour but it's really sugar.)

And my 2 year old just bumped his head on the corner of the table and came running: "My pekele, my pekele!"
(a bit confused - "kepele")

My 2-yr old daughter LOVES Thomas the Tank Engine.

The mother of a little boy in her class had a baby and he came running over to the Morah after the bris to tell the Morah the baby's name.

Then my little daughter copied him and ran over to the Morah to tell her that her mommy (Me) also had a new baby named "Thomas."

My four year old was returning to gan after having been sick. (I had also been sick)

He said "My morah has alot of animals in her home. She has fish, and she has birds and a hamster. She asked me if I had animals in my home, and I said we have a virus."

Here's one from yesterday- My 2 yr old came into the kitchen right before dinnertime and completely threw me off guard when he asked: "Mommy, are we having meatballs or vegeta-balls?"

The way he associates things with each other that I would never think of amazes me. And I never noticed he says "vegeta-balls!"

I wanted my 3 yr old to come out of the bath so I told her that I'll cover my face with the towel and asked her what I should cout to. she said 3. so I counted, "1, 2, 3! hey, where are you?" so she said, "no mommy, you did it wrong. count to 3 like this: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10!"

my daughter (age 5) was told that her alte bubby (my grandmother) was now in a nursing home, a place where they could take care of her better than at home. she told another bubby (dh's mother) that alte bubby was in the nursing home, "but I don't know why they call it a 'nursing home', they don't 'nurse' the bubbies and zaidys there!" it was all she could to to try and keep a straight face...

we moved into a new house recently and the kids were getting adjusted ti finding their way around. my ds, age 4 came running over:
ds: mommy, I need to make!
me: ok, so go to the bathroom quickly!
(a minute later he comes running back, an urgent look on his face)
ds: mommy I need to make!
me: so, go ahead.
ds: but where's the bathroom?!

could go on and on...these little things are what keep us going!

My ds once said - Ima, can I have xxx?
I told him - bezrat Hshem.
he said - no, I want it now!!
(reminded me that I said that usually to buy time embarrassed )

or when he was playing lego and I said that play time is over. He said he's not playing - he's just building...

or when we named the baby Chaya Mushka and told the kids she was named after the Rebbeitzin, her 2-yr-old sister said - right and I'm named after the Rebbeitzin "so-and-so"!

This is really a great thread!

We also had a funny episode:
We had 2 lebens left. A strawberry and a plain. Surprisingly Wink both kids wanted the strawberry one.
They argued a bit, as my older boy tried to get his little brother to take the plain Leben.

So my almost 4 year old said, "Ooooh, Gedalya, you want to have BOYM (tree) YOGURT??? Mmmm, Boym Yogurt!"

And do you know what, the almost 2 year old was convinced to try tree yogurt! LOL

5 yo ds can pontificate at length. After a long speech at the dinner table, almost 2 yo ds (just learning to talk) calmly looked up from his plate, emphatically said, "Nuh-uh!" and went back to eating!

Another Schneur story...

The kids were playing outside and it was hot. I said "your faces are getting red...go to the water fountain right away!"

On the way, Schneur grabbed the hand of a little two year old girl and dragged her to the fountain. Her mother ran frantically after her and as I also reached the scene, I heard him say to the mother "Her face is getting red, she needs water right away!"

and I said, "If you keep on annoying me Schneur, I'll change bezrat hashem to Bli neder!" (and he knows what THAT means...)

actually, yes! boruch Hashem- both with a wicked sense of humor-usually they gang up against me
