Tamiri, I gotta grant you that much… I never finger-paint with my kids! So no, you are not ruining them.

I enjoy fingerpainting with my 2 1/2 y.o. (I'ts his favorite activity.) I bought a kit that uses sponges, I spread a garbage bag on his kiddie table and one under his chair, strip him down to his diaper. let him paint to his hearts' content (he insists I paint with him too) and theni nto the bath he goes amid screaming 'noch painten'....

Can we make a sticky for that in the photo section? Wink

If you don't have it loaded onto a photo hosting site, there is an option to load when you click "Add Reply."
Just don't choose "Option 1" the way they suggest. Choose plain URL, which is the last code on the loading page.

I once read this article (poem?) of this woman who came home to hear her daughter telling her to come look - she made a pretty picture for her on the wall. She screamed, and punished the girl, as she was furious!
Then she went to clean it off. And what she saw, broke her heart. The daughter had written: "Mommy, I love you!" She was so upset for not calmly looking first, and then deciding how to punish.

yalt, reminds me of a story I read about a social worker coming to take someone's kids away and saw the "mural" on the wall and how calm and loving the mother was about it. she fought to allow the kids to stay with the mother. something like that. it's a matter of perspective, really. like most things in life.

now,
have any of you ever awoken to find sardine oil all over the counters?

All that ketchup, yuck! My kids will dump toy boxes upside down, I let them use couch cushions as slides, they use my plastic tupperware as slippers and make music w/pots and pans. They paint (w/washable of course) all over the kitchen table and themselves. However, I don't do well w/sticky...can't stand sticky!!! I would never allow them to get into anything that would make them sticky. I'm a bit neurotic about the anti sticky thing, can ya tell?? I'm notorious about having wet rags all over to wipe sticky hands and tables, hmmm. K, off my sticky rant.

Chayitty sometime Hashem gives you a little ‘Gift”, a child who simply works so fast that you can blink and find every single Fleishig spoon into a newly opened yogurt. You’re talking, 32 seconds. My other kids were never like this, and this is a girl too!

Mama Bear seriously, how many times a day does he poop anyway? Send him to school with a Pull-Up. If he won’t like being wet, he won’t make himself wet. If he poops (I highly doubt ), they can call you up!

The school won’t agree with pull-ups because they can’t change the children. But if you say, “it’s okay if he’s wet” when they will probably be more than happy to look the other way.

A few weeks ago my twins somehow managed to open a packet of matza meal.

They tipped the whole thing on the floor, they were totally covered with it from head to toe. They were licking it off the floor, each others' hands and each others faces. It was sooo cute.!

After I finished laughing and cleaning up I was kicking myself for not having taken a picture!

You cant send a kid to cheder who will poop even once. They wont change him, they'll call the mother. you cant send a 1000% untrained kid to cheder. A kid who still has a few accidents a day you can send - not a kid who never asks for the toilet and wets whereever he is. he has to be at least semi trained.

But, I decided that from now til pesach IYH, whenever I need to do some pesach cleaning, I'll drop him into the 'drop in playgroup' place down the block for 2 hours, even though I dont think it's ideal.
