I am just wondering if it would be inappropriate to shop on shiva asar betamuz. Ideally I would be home listening to shiurim but I am fasting and all my kids are home - it's simply not conducive to learn or listen to shiurim. I need to break up the day and would like to go out. Can someone tell me if that is not ok?

Shopping for clothes would be highly inappropriate. If you mean just a regular food shop, then go ahead. Get some food that you'll use for breaking the fast this evening.
