Did your child have a habit breaker made? My dentist says it works and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. Also, he said the removable ones don’t work, only the permanent ones which stay in the mouth for 6-12 months. Should I put my daughter through this?

She has bunny teeth and he said it comes from the way she points her tongue behind them when she swallows, supposedly a common issue with kids who needs braces.

they did and it does. I wish our dentist had told us about it before we had to get braces, b/c if they had had the habit appliance earlier the braces would not have been necessary.

I had one in second grade, they called it a tongue guard. I had it and a few braces (only on 4 teeth) for 2 years. It worked. I dont have buck teeth anymore. bt I still swallow like that. I think that I figure dout how to get my tongue aroudn the guard... My bite isnt perfect but much better.

Funny story, after I got my braces off in 4th grade, I brought a note from the teacher saying I was absent cuz went to the orthodontist and she asked me if I was getting braces. I was a bit taken aback...

Okay so we put it in on Sunday. Monday in school it fell out. Monday night, glued it back in. Tuesday morning, fell back out. Tuesday afternoon – we went back for a NEW mold, apparently it wasn’t made right. Is the dentist jus not made for this? He’s not an orthodontist, just a regular dentist. And he gave am e a very good affordable price.

<<dental professional here.
I had one put in my own kids mouth. it worked nicely. also ask the dr if you kid has a vaulted palate, because sometimes kids might have that as well.

So why does it keep falling out? Maybe we should just switch to a removeable one...
