I have all the ingredients for any supper I can make in the house, and then decide that day because it depends what im in the mood of that day.....

but its really good to have a menu! I tried it, and then I wasnt in the mood that day of what was on the menu so I didnt make it... does that ever happen to u?

Yes, but at least I don't have the pressure of having to come up with something every day. Except that I put something on the menu for today that I really don't care for and I don't know what I was thinking. And I don't have any better ideas either.

I am very impressed with your cooking/menu organisation Wink
I also make something different every day and week, however don't plan in advance and always have something new besides Sundays (we also have left overs)

This is a great thread for a dieter. Maybe because it's just so much work to really cook it, it's easier to just read through all those yummy dishes and feel full!

Does it work for anyone? LOL

We have a somewhat set menu as well, but with a lot of flexibility. I do leftovers on Mondays, a new recipe on Tuesday (either from a cookbook or a magazine I've wanted to try), and pasta night on Thusdays.

Tuesday nights have become a favorite dinner for us as we all taste test the new recipe. Very Happy

If I should ever be so lucky as to have Shabbos leftovers, they get eaten Motzai Shabbos or for Sunday lunch. I still have to come up with supper.

This week:
Sunday: Creamed mushrooms over toast, carrot sticks with dip
Monday: Homemade whole-wheat pizza with veggie toppings
Tuesday: Meatballs with whole-wheat spaghetti, stir-fried zucchini
Wednesday: Fish Provencale with rice, green beans
Thursday: Cervelat goulasch with potatoes and carrots

I often end up with one serving or so left from Shabbat, so we plate it up and put it in the freezer for a "TV dinner" or someone eats it for leftover night.

We don't have any kosher meat available right now, so we are eating dairy for pretty much everything. Last week's menu looked like:

Monday- leftovers
Tuesday - Calcutta Red lentil soup with fresh bread
Wednesday - Pizza Soup with grilled cheese sandwiches
Thursday - Pasta with spicy garlic peanut sauce (tomato sauce for kids)
Shabbat - Challah, salads, Carrot soup, sweet and sour "meat" balls (pretend meat!), and cheesecake brownie for dessert
Shabbos lunch - challah, spinach and cheese quiche, dessert

This week, we're going for Moroccan challettes (Moroccan cigar filling wrapped in challah dough) for the main dish for Shabbat, but I still need to think about the rest...
