We had lox and onions on rye and then omelets and plenty of water to drink. I feel lovely - not hungry and not stuffed.

To break the fast I will first serve cake & juice. then I will serve
egplant parmesan
noodle cheese kugel
fruit soup
vegetable salad
pudding
dessert cheese cake & ice cream
I am still thinking it is not enough. although I know from experience that most of it will be for lunch tommorow.
less than 3 hours to go.

I rather need food than drink. I usually have to remind myself to drink after a fast.

1stimer : amen - to the last fast not the lox!
Well I made for my kids a yummy hearty veggie soup with other things, so my DH & I will break the fast with tea & cake, then a little while later some soup crust bread, & whatever else he wants to eat.

I see so many mentions of tea to break the fast. Any special reason? My husband breaks the fast with 94% proof plum brandy. I always wonder if he is the only one drinking alchohol to break the fast.

BTW, you are allowed to drink wine after the fast. This year, as you know, we had to make havdala and the Shulchan Aruch says "mavdilin al hakos", which Mishna Brura specifically notes means that you're allowed to drink wine. Since wine/grape juice are the only drinks prohibited during the Nine Days anyhow, and even they are allowed Motzai Tisha B'Av, there is certainly no problem breaking your fast on brandy.
Lucky - I know lots of people who break their fast on schnapps. My grandfather a"h used to.

I always just wonder how they can tolerate alchohol on an empty stomache. I have to be careful what I eat after a fast.
My husband also made havdalah on wine.
