I have a cleaning lady who comes 3 times a week every other day for 2.5 hours. If you can get someone who can just come for a short time eveery other day it is MUCH better than having someone once or twice a week for a long time.
I wish she was less expensive though - she charges 10 euro an hour plus bus fare I told some Israeli visitors this is what cleaners charge and they were amazed.
Also, before this one (non-jewish russian) I had a Jewish Russian who didn't last long because even though I never asked her too and specifiacally asked her not too, she kept loading up the dishwashers (obviously she had no clue what was milchig and what was fleishig) and starting them!!!! She thought she knew all about Kosher Kitchens. Very dangerous...
Happy Pesach cleaning

we didnt have a maid until we moved into our new apt and my friend who lives downstairs offered to split her maid with me (half day me and half day her) so I asked DH and he looked around our house and hes like fine even though we cant really afford it. but it wasnt really a set thing. She just came when we felt out house needed to be cleaned but no set day. Then she left on us, so I called my Mothers maid and asked her for a friend who could work for me once a week as a set thing. she made a few calls got me my maid and Im loving it! She comes once a week, but Im trying to get hubby to agree to get her for 5 days a week once I BH give birth. I told him Ill have 3 kids under the age of two, and Im gunna have to take my oldest to playgroup everymorning and im not dragging 3 kids out As of now itsnot going anywhere, but I still have some hope! It really is a big help bc that was the one day Im able to go out w\ no kids (like classes and stuff) oh yeh, and I get a clean house too hehe :-D

yep the day the cleaning lady comes I make all my appointment.. but I run a day care and I put all the babies to sleep at 11:00 am and then I run like mad . and then I return before any baby wakes up so they dont even know that I left...
otherwise I feel like I am in prison and locked up I cant leave the house at all. so yes cleaning help is worth it..
sometimes we get her to come at night so we can go out . and we get a clean house. babysitter and cleaner all in one....

I just did the smartest thing. I used to have a cleaning lady 5 hours each time twice a week. no she agreed to come every morn- 5 days for 2 hours each.
I leave the little ones at home and run to do the carpool while she is here and more than that she throws in a load every day, tidies up and the house looks so much cleaner!! and I am payiong her the same ammount!!!

I pay three dollars an hour for a teenager to come on thursdays and it is great she does a great job and when I come home from shopping my whole house is spotless. I love it!! sometimes the teenagers are the best because they have more energy, they work fast and some just love to clean!!

I don't have a cleaning lady not since I got married. I do all the cleaning by myself and sometimes when I'm tired my husband helps me out. I would love to have a cleaning lady but I don't have kids yet.

curly, you could always treat yourself to a cleaning lady once a month or so.

I had a cleaning lady every other week before I had a child. I worked just as hard as my husband, so why not?

I also had a teenager that used to come every day after school. I found it was worth more than a cleaning lady. Also if I left her babysitting I knew I would come home to a clean house.
Now my girls r old enough to babysit, but unless I really warn them beforehand, I dont find the house clean.

Good point, nicole! I work harder than my hubz (more hours) plus I gotta make supper. I just feel guilty taking cleaning help without kids. as if I'm not capable because why shouldn't I be able to manage? but guess what? I think I'm getting a cleaning lady this week before shabbos. . .

I don't have kids yet but I would benefit greatly if I had a cleaning lady.
I would bake much more if I had s/one to clean up the dishes after me.
I like to patchke but hate to clean up.
My problem is that I work full time, so I'm never home to have a cleaning lady, (wouldn't trust a/one alone in my home, plus dh is home during the day) and I don't have the money for it.
I s/times have a day off from work, but I don't usually know that in advance and I can't have a cleaning lady from one min. to the next.
I also havent done a real good cleaining in a loooooong time.
I don't have the time nor the energy to do it.
And I don't have a dishwasher either.

I think that is a good idea that twice a month have a cleaning or when we have guests over my husband and I like to have guest over for shabbos. Right on debz123. I thought that I can manage. Will it be hard to find some one to come if it isn't that many hours?
